Fees
Insurance
We will not charge you a fee for our services relating to insurance, but we will receive commission from the product provider. The commission will be calculated as a proportion of the premiums paid for the insurance product.
You will receive a quotation which will tell you about the fees and charges relating to any insurance policy that we recommend.
Mortgages
We charge a minimum fee for our advice service of £650 to 1% of the loan if higher, but the maximum you will pay is £2,000.
We will tell you the fee before we start working for you.
You need to pay £299 of the agreed fee when you apply for the mortgage, the remainder of the agreed fee is then paid when your mortgage completes. Any fee paid is non-refundable, if the mortgage did not go ahead after an application is submitted you would not be liable for the remaining fee amount owed.
Example (for illustrative purposes only)
If your mortgage is for £150,000, there will be a total charge of £1,500. £299 of the overall £1,500 fee would be payable when the application for the mortgage is submitted, the remaining balance of £1,201 would be payable when the mortgage completes.
Similarly, if your mortgage is for £50,000, there will be a total charge of £650 as this is the minimum fee charged. £299 of the overall £650 fee would be payable when the application for the mortgage is submitted, the remaining balance of £351 would be payable when the mortgage completes.
We will also be paid a procuration fee by the lender. You will be told how much this is when we give you the mortgage illustration. You can ask in advance the percentage (of the loan) each lender will pay us.
If an application is submitted via a third party specialist (sometimes called a packager) we will be paid commission by them instead of the lender. This will be disclosed to you.
